AΩE runs a number of services for the community throughout the year, including:
- Patch Sewing: all year.
- Pie Sales: Thanksgiving (October) and Pi Week (March).
- Professional Development Events: first two weeks of classes, and throughout the year.
- Fridge Raffle: fall term.
- Clothing Drive: All year.
Is that Red you wear looking kinda bare? Don’t despair! We’ve got skills to spare, and we’ll take care of all your patch sewing needs! Studies show that having your patches sewn on by AΩE decreases your risk of tanking by 96%, increases your risk of helping AΩE continue to exist by 100%, and does absolutely nothing for your risk of heart disease, but at least you’ll look nice when the ambulance carts you off.
$3 for a small patch and $5 for a large (e.g. Knight) or complicated patch (e.g. octopus shaped), but if you have lots of patches, give us a shout! We might be able to work something out. Get in touch at email@example.com or by asking any sister of AΩE
We bake and sell pies twice a year! All of our pies are home-baked with homemade crusts by the sisters of Alpha Omega Epsilon! Our next pie sale will be in October.
In early October, the week before Thanksgiving, we make magically delicious pumpkin pie. On March 14th (or the Friday before, if it falls on a weekend), we get a little geeky with our baking and sell five varieties of pie to celebrate Pi Day! We always sell out, so be on the lookout around campus and on Facebook in late September and early March to pre-order yours!
Professional Development Events
During the first two weeks of classes, and periodically throughout the year, we run Pro-D events that are open to the entire engineering community, inviting our alumni, professors, and other guest speakers to talk about their experiences in industry, as well as give advice on resume writing and interview skills. Everyone is welcome, whether a member or not, so take advantage!
Just moved into rez and looking for a mini-fridge? Look no further! Every year, we raffle one off, full of goodies, so keep your eyes open in the fall for our posters and Facebook posts.
We annually run a clothing drive for women in the Downtown Eastside. We ask you to help us give back to the larger community by keeping any clean, undamaged clothing that you want to get rid of (used bras are okay, but NOT underpants).
Talk to any sister to donate your clothes.
