What is A.O.E.?
Alpha Omega Epsilon (A.O.E.) is a professional sorority for women in engineering and technical sciences. The sorority was founded on November 13, 1983 by 27 women engineering students at Marquette University. Currently, Alpha Omega Epsilon has 43 chapters across the United States and Canada.
The Sisters of Alpha Omega Epsilon promote personal growth in the areas of friendship, leadership and professionalism. Through the everyday interactions and the social, philanthropy and professional events the sorority creates an environment in which all its members may flourish.
About the Eta Chapter
The Eta Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon was established at the University of British Columbia on February 21, 1998 by 20 members. It is one of two Canadian chapters,the other being at the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus.
The Eta Chapter currently has about 40 active members, and holds a number of professional development, fundraising, and philanthropy events for the engineering community at UBC. Additionally, we field teams at UBC Rec events like Day of the Longboat and Storm the Wall. We have a close relationship with the Theta chapter of Sigma Phi Delta engineering fraternity, and have for the past several years competed on a joint team with them for Engineering Week.

OBJECTIVES
To create friendships while promoting self-confidence, professionalism and motivation among female engineers of all curricula.
To work for the betterment of the individual and the Sorority as a whole.
To create a friendly and warm environment among its members.
To promote the welfare and interests of the profession.
To strengthen the relationships between students and faculty.
To enhance educational achievements and scholarship.
To help develop the highest standards of personal integrity and character.
To foster and maintain the bond of sisterhood through a continuing program for the alumnae.
